Coaches
The coaches (teachers) for the Pontiac High FIRST Team are a group of dedicated professionals who are taking on the responsibility of providing us with the best enriching educational experience in education today. Many of their efforts are behind the scenes pre- and -post season. Many, many hours of planning are required to coordinate all the activities for our team. The coaches are also classroom teachers with full classroom responsibilities in addition to the FIRST Team activities. Much of the work required is done before and after school. Often the scope of this project requires evening and weekend meetings and organization. When traveling they are considered our "parents" looking out for our welfare and safe keeping. They take seriously the confidence our parents have placed in them. Their decisions are always what is best for the student first and the team second. Decisions regarding team rules and procedures are based upon experience, school district and Engineers input. We are expected to honor any request made by a coach.
Team Coordinator: Mike Martus
Mike has been with the team since the beginning, he is starting his fifteenth year in first (fourteen of which was well spent on Chief Delphi) and is also the lead coach for the Wings Of Fire. He is currently the team coordinator.
Mr. Spencer
Mr. Spencer is in his fourth year as a coach. He is active in helping the Hall Of Fame, photo, video, and publications teams.
Mrs.Nitoski
Mrs. Nitoski is the school liason, she was the lead coach for the huskie brigade for a six years and is now starting her seventh year with our team. She is incharge of awards (chairmans, woody flowers, etc) as well as team uniforms.
